I did nothing but walk to ensure myself a better place

I look at that tree and I think that maybe it's normal that it's no longer there
that writing I made when I was a child to prove myself that everything lingers
I didn't ponder that it could have disappeared over time without leaving a memory to anyone
As if nothing ever happened despite my search of a firm hold
to something that might bear a word's weight on the wall of the house

I get back to being
